Dollar Store Crafts has lots of really great, reader-submitted holiday decorating ideas, including these two that really piqued my interest.
Mitten Garland
I'm heading over to the local thrift store to look for old wool sweaters and scarves to make this! We're working on a Dr. Seuss-inspired tree this year, and I think maybe a bright, fuzzy Lorax garland could be just what the tree needs.
Recycled Ribbon Spool Ornaments The
Two Little Chick-a-dees blog has a very entertaining and informative how-to on these cute and thrifty ornaments. I'm going to see if my 8-year-old son will make some with me.
These Peppermint Candy Wreaths are really cute, too!
And so are these Sweater Trees.
So many great ideas for reusing and recycling, along with being just plain thrifty. I've already cut up last year's Christmas cards and turned them into homemade gift tags, but finding these awesome projects has me really motivated to start the holiday decorating, creating, and recycling. Happy Holidaze!
