Chainmail Lunar Rover Wheels

Some folks at McGill University are researching gravel-filled chainmail wheels for their prototype lunar vehicle. The loosely-filled sacks glom onto obstacles better than stiff rubber, and the metal linkages make the wheels puncture-resistant. I love when ancient crafts make themselves useful in space-age projects. [Thanks, Dale Wheat!]
