My kids are finally getting to the age (and height) where helping in the kitchen and around the house isn't quite a stretch, but I remember well the days when we'd pull up a chair to the counter for baking help. I'd spend half my time just trying to make sure they weren't going to step off the chair or fall backwards off of it. I could have really used this detailed tutorial from Ana White for making a helping tower for my kids. It's under $20 to build, plus paint, and it folds completely flat for storing. [via Ohdeedoh]
